A Superhero's 4th Birthday Party | Ventura Event Photography | Donya J Photography

We are so very blessed to have such amazing friends and share in their milestones. My family and I went to E's 4th Birthday party a few weeks ago and these were the results of our spectacular, sugar filled day!

So Funny

It's March 10th!

Today's shoot is:
So Funny
I had a very willing model to help me today.

Maya kept bending over and looking through her legs at me, she developed this little plumber's crack, and it made me bust up laughing.  She thought she was so very funny and so did I.

Home

It's March 4th!

Today's shoot is:

Home
So this is not normally what my house looks like, but I wanted to also show how cluttered and crazy it can get when the kiddo's start playing and there are toys everywhere!  Plus, I wanted to show how I am always editing in the forefront.

Self Portrait

Day 1:  Self Portrait

If you don't already know, I am almost 35 weeks pregnant and feel like I have been pregnant for almost 2 years. But what you don't know is that I not very fond of pictures of myself at the moment, because I am a bit exhausted and feel like a harbor seal. (This is meant to be sarcasm.)

This shot was a little trying on me, but it's over....whew and here is the winner!

Now for a little back story, Maya woke up at 4:46am and so did I.  This shot was taken at about 2pm.  I was trying to shoot this while she was taking her 2nd nap but betweeen going down to the car to get the tripod and getting ready she woke up extremely early.  She was actually sitting at her high chair after I fed her some lunch and was watching me very curiously while I ran back and forth putting the camera on self timer.  This shot was almost the very last shot...number 41 of 42 total shot.

I like that it is not too in focus, it draws my attention to the belly bump.  Now off to bed at 7:48pm.  OHHHHH Shoes tomorrow!!

30 Day Photo Challenge

A 30 Day Photo Challenge!!

Okay it's been awhile, I know so much has transpired, we've moved to Port Hueneme, near the beach and yesterday I officially felt an intense yearning to be creative, hence the photography bug.

-->
A 365 Day Photo Project has been aspiration of mine to try for ages, as a Mom I have thoughts that I will not realistically be able to shoot a picture everyday.

Hey I am 8 months pregnant and I have a 13 month old, would I be taking on too much?  Maybe there is also a possibility of me failing and not doing well.  Would I be able to I let it go if I don’t do one day?  Will I be a failure?  Why do we humans let fear run us?

Instead, I intend to start a 30 day photo project, and guess what, I started today!  Although the 30 Day Photo Fun (below) says June, I am going to do this in the next 30 days. Since February is Leap Year and the month ends on the 29th, my last day will officially be March 1st.  Just 8 short days away from our awaited son's due date. :)

So check back each day if you so desire to see just what my creative juices cook up!

Max

An Ode to my nephew Max,
whom I adore and treasure!

Born Feburary 2, 2010

"God knew that I loved you too much to be your friend,
so He made me your auntie"

What a cutie patootie!

Max's photoshoot in Mazatlan!

             Whooooohooo,

look who's riding a horse!!

Max is so adventurous he loves
to run and play with Daddy,

or by himself too!

Nephews are the children that we borrow,
Intending not to raise but merely love,
Ever watchful from our open window,
Caring deeply at a slight remove.
Everywhere you go, my love will follow,
Still part of you wherever you may live.

Halloween Spooktacular

The Bautista's attended our first Halloween party....
Baby Spooktacular, hosted by Danielle Ennico, a few weekends ago and had a blast.

Off to a party...in my new "Big Girl" convertible car seat!
Maya's, Nana Kathy found her this cute Kitty Cat costume with a big bottom and tale, that we could not put on her until we got to the party.  I decided to put on a little bit of kitty make-up and she was so adorable.

Loved the cakes, they were both made by hostess Danielle, scrumptious too!  Too bad, I forgot to take a picture of the jello worms and the spaghetti and eyeballs.

I only captured a few of the beautiful babies that attended, I wish I had captured more.

Kitty Robe

Bathtime can be fun fulled or really trying on a pregnant Mommy.

So not that I can bathe Maya every day, yeah, try bending over for too long to play with your little one or having to squat for minutes at a time.  Whew...that's when the big belly does get in the way.

The fun happens when you have a willing model to play....

let's say dressing up in a baby robe and slippers.

Now how many times do you really get to use a robe on an infant or baby unless it is a candid moment???

I will say we do use the slippers a lot more than I thought we would maybe it's the Ocean air.
